House No.4 is a period home in Oxfordshire, redesigned by Studio November as a family oasis a place that works as hard as its owners, but feels effortlessly at ease.

The brief called for a full home refurbishment: improving flow and functionality throughout, while honouring the character and warmth that drew the family to the property in the first place. Studio November delivered the complete scope interior design, architectural planning, bespoke joinery and lighting design working across every room from the entrance hall to the guest bedrooms.

In the living spaces, layered Persian rugs, velvet upholstery and carefully curated artwork sit alongside a grand piano and warm wood floors a composition that feels collected over time rather than designed in a single moment. The kitchen and dining areas were reconfigured to improve the connection between cooking, eating and the garden beyond.

Bespoke joinery features throughout: from the built-in bookcase in the sitting room to the cabinetry designed to frame and organise each space. Lighting was treated as a design element in its own right, with a scheme that shifts mood from the practical brightness of a family morning to the warmer, quieter atmosphere of an evening at home.
