House No.14 London by Studio November - Architecture - Interior Design - Landscape Design

House No.14 is a family home in Richmond, London — a 1960s property in an open garden community, refurbished and extended by Studio November to create a house that finally made the most of its setting.

The project began with planning permission for the refurbishment and extension of the existing house. Studio November used the orientation of the site to inform the layout of the new extension, opening up the ground floor to create generous open-plan living and adding an additional bedroom above. The choice of external materials was deliberate: Danish Long Bricks and Cedar cladding were selected to help the enlarged footprint sit comfortably within its landscape rather than imposing upon it.

Inside, the interior design scheme responds to the improved relationship between inside and outside — lighter, more connected spaces that feel easy to move through and live in. The landscape design was developed alongside the architecture to ensure the garden and the building work as a single composition.
